FedDev Ontario invests over $20 million in 14 Windsor-Essex businesses to modernize operations, scale production and strengthen resiliency

Today, the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital
Innovation and Minister responsible for Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), visited building products manufacturer, Ennova Facades. While there, the Minister announced a combined investment of over $20 million for 14 businesses across Windsor-Essex: Border Steel Limited, Canadian Electrocoating Ltd., Central Stamping Ltd., Dimachem Inc., Ennova Facades Inc., Formedge Inc., Jahn Engineering Ltd., Kringer Industrial, Laval Tool & Mould Ltd., Mega Mold International Inc., Post Packaging Inc., Sabre Machine Tool Inc., Service Mold + Aerospace Inc. and Unique Tool & Gauge Inc. to help these companies to adopt advanced technologies, enhance competitiveness, and seize new growth opportunities.Ennova Facades will receive a $4.5-million investment to support equipment and manufacturing modernization as part of a facility expansion to advance its high-performance building solutions, launch three new innovative products, expand into new markets, and strengthen competitiveness.
Through these investments, businesses across the Windsor-Essex region will strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, create growth opportunities, and reinforce regional supply chains. For more information on projects, please see the backgrounder.

Through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI), the Government of Canada is providing $1.5 billion to small and medium-sized enterprises impacted by tariffs so they can diversify their markets, create new revenue sources, and adopt innovative technologies to boost competitiveness.
The RTRI is part of a broad set of tariff support measures, including the Large Enterprise Tariff Loan Facility, the creation of a new $1 billion Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) program, a Pivot to Grow initiative, and, through the Strategic Response Fund, as well as the enhancements to the Work-Sharing Program. Together, these efforts demonstrate a commitment to reinforcing Canada’s industrial strength and defending good jobs across the country.
Delivered by Canada’s regional development agencies, the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (RDII) is a national $357.7-million investment supporting the growth and integration of businesses into domestic and international defence supply chains. FedDev Ontario is delivering the RDII in southern Ontario.
Founded in 2016, Windsor-based Ennova Facades Inc. is a manufacturer and designer of high-performance architectural building envelopes and custom prefabricated facade systems.
The Government of Canada, through FedDev Ontario announced a $1.15-million investment in Ennova in 2023, which helped the company enhance efficiency and expand capabilities at its Windsor and Amherstburg facilities. With the new expansion, Ennova will develop and launch new products opening the door to new markets and growth opportunities across Canada.
