We reimagined storage as an extension of the home—a welcoming and practical space where women can store family heirlooms without encroaching on their living space.”
— Margaux Chetrit

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA, March 31, 2025 / EINPresswire.com / -- Entreposage Montréal Mini-Storage is proud to announce the upcoming opening of

its 24th self-storage facility at 500 Sauvé Street West, in the heart of Ahuntsic-Cartierville – a vibrant fashion and innovation district in Montreal.

Scheduled for a grand opening on June 1st, this new facility represents a significant milestone not only for the company, but also for the self-storage industry as a whole, as it is the first storage space in Canada designed by women, specifically designed to meet the needs of women.

This innovative project was conceived and realized by Entreposage Montréal Mini-Storage's all-female leadership team: Andréa Lafrechoux (Real Estate Director), Margaux Chetrit (Business Development Director), Tonia Assaf (Project Manager), Serena Miscione (Leasing Specialist), and Alida Wu (Senior Financial Analyst). Driven by a shared passion for progress, this team brought to life a facility that redefines what self-storage can be.

“We've long understood that women are often the ones making the decisions when it comes to organizing their homes and daily lives. Yet, the self-storage industry has rarely taken their needs into account,” explains Margaux Chetrit. “With this project, we've reimagined self-storage as an extension of the home—a welcoming, secure, and convenient space where women can store family heirlooms, business inventory, seasonal items, or even their personal treasures, without encroaching on their living space.” »

The 500 Sauvé Street West facility spans 82,000 square feet and will include more than 800 storage units spread over two floors. This adaptive reuse project has reduced its carbon footprint by approximately 50% compared to a conventional development. The renovation incorporates numerous energy-saving measures, as well as designated parking spaces for Communauto, a local car-sharing service.

Beyond its low environmental impact, every operational detail has been designed to provide safety, comfort, and convenience, including:
- Well-lit interior and exterior spaces for increased visibility and safety
- 24/7 surveillance with security cameras
- Corner mirrors installed throughout the building to ensure full visibility in blind spots
- Loading areas accessible to both cars and trucks to facilitate moves
-A by-appointment service allowing customers to book the assistance of a representative to access or manage their unit, depending on availability.

In keeping with Montréal Mini-Storage's tradition of integrating public art into its properties, the company hopes to entrust the creation of a mural to Amelia Haddouchi, an internationally renowned Montreal artist. Known for her vibrant and empowering style, Haddouchi's mural will become a symbol of creativity, resilience and community — and a strong visual signature of what Montréal Mini-Storage stands for.

As part of its commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs, Entreposage Montréal Mini-Storage is proud to offer two exclusive promotions:
90 days of free storage for women entrepreneurs using the space for business purposes (inventory, supplies, equipment).
A wage gap-matching discount: Women and gender-identified individuals will be able to benefit from an adjusted rate of $0.82 for every dollar, reflecting the current average wage gap in Canada.

This initiative is a continuation of the company's commitment to women in business. From Clickspace for Her—a coworking space created in partnership with the Scotiabank Women's Initiative—to Ladies Who Launch, an annual summit bringing together female entrepreneurs from various sectors, Montréal Mini-Storage continues to create inspiring platforms that foster progress and community connections.

"We are incredibly proud to see the women on our team innovating in the fields of commercial real estate and self-storage," adds Andrea Lafrechoux. "This installation is a powerful testament to what is possible when women design for women, and it reinforces our belief that inclusive spaces strengthen our neighborhoods and economies." »

Montréal Mini-Storage is committed to advancing its business, its industry, and the communities it serves. With the opening of the Sauvé facility, we are setting a new industry standard—one that supports entrepreneurship and celebrates the power of women to shape the spaces in which we live and work.
