A traditional Canadian company strengthens global readiness in air combat
MONTREAL, May 26, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Top Aces Inc., the global leader in live flight training for Adversary Air (ADAIR) and Close Air Support (CAS), proudly celebrates its 25th
anniversary. Founded in Montreal by veteran Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-18 pilots, the company has grown into a global market leader, holding an industry record with over 140,000 accident-free training flight hours in support of NATO and allied nations."This is a very proud moment for all of us at Top Aces. What began as a small Canadian company with just a handful of employees has grown into a global company with over 600 team members on three continents," said Paul Bouchard, co-founder and CEO of Top Aces Inc. "Our 25th anniversary is a testament to the dedication of our employees—past and present—who believe in the Top Aces mission and live our values every day: Service, Integrity, Excellence, Together. Our highly trained military veterans take great pride in participating in and supporting the training of active-duty pilots, soldiers, and Marines."
Top Aces' mission has always been to provide safe and highly professional training solutions for the defense sector – with the goal of ensuring its customers' current and future operational readiness. In a constantly changing world, military preparation and readiness are crucial. Allied forces worldwide are increasingly recognizing the benefits of the commercial ADAIR industry – particularly in terms of cost savings and the longevity of their fleets. "We are deeply honored by the unwavering trust and long-standing support of our customers and partners throughout this 25-year journey – not least because it shows us that they appreciate the value that Top Aces brings to their operational training needs," explains Didier Toussaint, Co-Founder and Group President of Top Aces Inc.
Several notable achievements have marked Top Aces' 25-year history and driven the company's exceptional growth:
- In 2021, Top Aces Corp. achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first private company in the world to own and operate a fleet of F-16 fighter aircraft. Currently used to train U.S. Air Force (USAF) F-22 and F-35 pilots, Top Aces' F-16 Advanced Aggressor Fighters (AAFs) are considered the most advanced and threat-representative training adversaries available.
- Driven by innovation, Top Aces spent nearly a decade developing its groundbreaking, in-house developed Advanced Aggressor Mission System (AAMS), which was successfully deployed in 2021. Featuring an open architecture design, the AAMS enables Top Aces F-16 and A-4N aircraft to integrate cutting-edge sensors, including but not limited to Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, Infrared Search and Track (IRST), Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (HMCS), and advanced datalinks, effectively mimicking the threats posed by modern adversary fighter aircraft. The AAMS provides a path for continuous improvement, enabling customers to constantly evolve their training threat, including the integration of ongoing advances in Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) and Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA).
- In 2022, Top Aces expanded its service offerings through the acquisition of Blue Air Training, a US-based company recognized as a global expert in comprehensive Close Air Support (CAS) training for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and Joint Fires Observers (JFOs). This partnership created a market leader in providing ADAIR and CAS training, benefiting military customers worldwide.
Top Aces' vision for the future is to be the leading provider of innovative defense training solutions, continually raising standards in an industry where experience matters. "As we celebrate this significant milestone, we look forward to continuing our mission of providing world-class training solutions and ensuring our NATO and allied forces are always prepared for the challenges of the future," adds Bouchard.
