Funding to Help Identify New Location for St. Anthony Boys and Girls Club

Canada - The Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Families and Affordability and Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, is today announcing grant funding of $70,000 for the St. Anthony Boys and Girls Club to complete a feasibility study to identify a new, permanent location for the organization.

A permanent location will ensure that safe, inclusive and consistent programming continues to be delivered to youth experiencing poverty, housing insecurity, isolation and other vulnerabilities.

The St. Anthony Boys and Girls Club is one of the only youth-serving organizations in the

St. Anthony region. The club supports approximately 120 young people each year with afterschool and literacy programs.

Organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs provide a safe, supportive place where young people can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. Providing developmental opportunities for children and youth improves well-being during an important period of life and helps to strengthen community spirit and intergenerational connectedness.
