Québec City, September 11, 2025 – Québec City is pleased to announce the names of the 39 winners of the Défi-Québec spring 2025 entrepreneurial competition, which will share $1.77 million for the benefit of the local economy. These grants are awarded as part of the Quebec 2030 Entrepreneurial Vision, powered by the Fonds de la région de la Capitale-Nationale (FRCN), from the Government of Quebec.
The financial assistance granted to the winning companies is intended to support the start-
up of young innovative companies, projects related to commercial and tourism development, and the deployment of eco-responsible practices.Défi-Québec is a call for projects that takes place twice a year, in the spring and fall. Financial assistance is provided in the form of non-repayable contributions of up to $50,000 per project.

"Québec City is on an economic trajectory and this is no stranger to the talent and innovation shown by our entrepreneurs. The vitality of Quebec City's business community is enough to make everyone jealous, says Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand. It is our duty to support it to make our city ever more attractive. Quebec City recognizes the strength of its entrepreneurship support programs, and we are ready to go even further. »
"The Défi-Québec program embodies our desire to provide concrete support to entrepreneurs who dare to build the future," added David Weiser, Executive Committee member responsible for economic development. By providing a non-repayable contribution of up to $50,000, we are reducing financial risk at a critical time in their journey. This support is much more than financial support: it is a strong signal that the City of Québec believes in their potential, in their vision, and in their ability to make our local economy more sustainable and competitive. »
