AMQUI, QC, Sept. 3, 2025 /CNW/ - The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) would like to inform the public of Amqui and the surrounding area of the upcoming visit of the local road safety services team, which will allow people wishing to obtain a driver's licence or a learner's licence to take the tests.
The local road safety services team will be on site according to the following schedule, if the request justifies it:

Theoretical and practical driving tests are offered by appointment only. Call toll-free at 1-800-361-7620 and choose option 2, "To book or change an appointment," and again option 2, "To take a road test." You can also make an appointment online by logging into your SAAQclic account via our website.
You must notify the SAAQ at least 48 hours in advance if you wish to cancel your road test appointment, otherwise fees will apply.
Help in creating your SAAQclic account
During the visit of the local road safety services team, a person will be able to accompany you to create your account at the Government Authentication Service. This account will allow you to access SAAQclic services. Identity verification is done in the presence of a member of staff. You must show two pieces of identification, one of which must be photographed, have already been registered with the Québec health insurance plan and have your card number on hand. The following pieces of identification are accepted:
- health insurance card;
- Quebec driver's licence;
- Canadian passport (even if expired) or foreign passport;
- permanent resident card;
- Citizenship card with photo;
- Canadian Armed Forces map;
- birth certificate from Quebec, another Canadian province or territory;
- Certificate of Indian Status
- any official letter or document issued by Immigration Canada proving refugee status.
You will also need to have on hand:
- your email address and password;
- your banking information (found on your cheques and in your online banking account)
The account creation assistance service is offered with or without an appointment.
