The Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough council has given the green light to the construction of a brand new community centre at 8615 Saint-Michel Boulevard.
This project, led by the Saint-Michel, district of social innovation, aims to provide a modern, welcoming and accessible place for all citizens.
The future three-storey building will be designed to meet the needs of families, youth, seniors and neighbourhood organizations. It will include:
- A large multipurpose room for activities and events
- A collective kitchen
- Spaces to store bicycles
- A green roof and a terrace
- Accessible facilities
This centre will become a real meeting place and services for the community, while helping to revitalize Saint-Michel Boulevard and its surroundings.
Note: the project will be built on the current site of the Le Michelois community garden. The garden will be relocated nearby, to George-Vernot Park, which will also be redeveloped.
